I remember back in the day when this was all fields *Points to a built up area*
I remember when I first started blogging and one of the things you HAD to do was do as many Q&As you could get your blogging hands on and tell the world all about yourself.
I remember my first ever blogging conference. It was called BlogOnMOSI and it was hosted by the wonderful Laura from Tiredmummyoftwo. I was nervous as hell but once the day started and the cake came out all my fears disappeared.
In May, I will once again be attending the same conference (Now renamed BlogOnMSI) and to help us all get to know eachother a little better before the day, Chelseamamma has created a BlogOnMSI Linky, so just like I did back when I was knee-high to a blogging grasshopper, here’s a good old Q&A for everyone and especially those going to BlogOn to get know little old DWB.
Here we go…
Share a recent picture of you (if you are an anonymous blog, a drawing is fine)
If you had to describe yourself in three words…….
Always. A. Trier
How long have you been blogging and what made you start?
I started 5 years ago. Wow even typing that made me realise how long I have been going. I started to create a diary for me and possibly provide assurance for anybody else out the with questions like mine.
What was your favourite TV program as a child?
I had loads. The first that came to mind was ‘Thundercats’. I was a big T.M.N.T fan too. If you don’t know what that means, we may never get on! 🙂
Something interesting you might not know about me is . . .
I work in a funeral home. Feel free to ask me anything you want to know, but don’t worry, I don’t bring my work home with me.
What is the weirdest food you have ever eaten?
Probably not weird to some, but as part of the experience it was weird. When we went to New York, we were taken to a traditional (non touristy) Chinese restaurant in China Town and were given dumplings, which was basically pastry with a dumpling and soup inside. Weird, but very cool.
What was your biggest fashion faux pas?
I’m pretty boring when it comes to fashion as I only ever wear black (Unless I’m at work ironically), but I do remember when I was about 18 having the worst ‘Curtain’ hair cut you can imagine.
What are you pet peeves?
Bad manners. Manners are free and some still can’t afford them!
Who would be your 3 perfect dinner party guests (dead or alive) and why?
Firstly, my mum as I miss her like crazy and would love to tell all about her grandkids. My wife as I’d get it in the neck if she wasn’t invited and after 16 years we still find stuff to talk about. Lastly Christopher Nolan. Would to pick his brains about film.
If they made a movie of your life, what would it be about and which actor would play the part of you?
A tale of a young boy from yorkshire, raised in a single parent home who grew up to be an amazing father, husband and mediocre blogger. (Obviously dramatised for hollywood) Played by Jonah Hill.
If you could live in any sitcom, which one would it be?
Does The Simpsons count? If it does, I’d love to be their other neighbour.
Name a famous person you have met.
I’ve met a few minor celebrities. Probably the most famous is film director (and personal hero) Kevin Smith. Most people reading that are probably asking ‘who?’
Which social media platform best describes your personality and why?
Twitter. Like my brain most of the time, its full of nonsensical rubbish with the odd bit of sense thrown in.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
In total…about 4.
What period of time from the past would you most like to have lived?
I like the idea of the 20s. Not sure why but that was the first time period that came to mind.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Probably Australia. I’ve travelled to many places in the US but never gone the other way.
What is your guilty pleasure?
One of my favourite films is ‘Cocktail’. Does that count?
What is your favourite tipple?
Cocktail-Long Island Iced Tea
If you had a magic lamp and a Genie, what would be your three wishes?
Not a massive lottery win, just enough to make us and our loved ones comfortable.
The power to make all leaders who go to war to be locked in a room and get their acts together and they are not allowed to leave until they are friends again!
Leeds United to win the premier league. After all there’s more chance of me actually finding a lamp with a wish giving genie in it than it actually happening any other way.
Well, there you have it.
Now you know a little bit about me. if you havent already done so, head on over to BlogOn conference and get to know some other people attending the BlogOn conference in Manchester this year.
See you there!
