WIngman Male Grooming #Review

Posted by

I’m not really one for male grooming stuff but recently a few e-mails creeped into my inbox which peaked my interest.

As those that know me would agree, I am but a simple man with simple needs. I have a routine, I buy the same products all the time. I know what I like and I like what I know.
So normally when I get offers regarding male grooming I politely decline. For some reason Wingman change my mind.

The first thing that hooked me was the fact that originally I had sent one of my typical replies saying thanks but no thanks and the reason for that was it’s hard to review grooming products when you don’t really groom.
I can’t give an honest opinion on the shave gel, cos well…I don’t really shave. I have a full beard which means I only shave my neck and cheeks. I explained that and that I’m not removing it for the sake of a review. Their reply was basically, we get that, check out our other products…..So here we are!

My Wingman Male Grooming SelectionNow as I said previously I don’t really groom, don’t moisterise, scrub, exfoliate or any of that stuff, so as I was away on holiday I thought it was a great way test the stuff out.

First up was the face wash.

Face Wash from Wingman Male Grooming RangeIn fairness I didn’t feel much difference with this than I would any other type of face wash I have used but it certainly stands up with those that I have. I used it for the two weeks holiday and although my face felt clean and refreshed I wasn’t sure if that was the face wash or the holiday! 🙂

Next up was the moisturiser.

Moisturiser from Wingman male grooming range. Now I really put this bad boy through its paces. I have a tendency to tan quite well on holiday but that leads to peeling especially on my forehead (Which seems to be getting larger thanks to my ever rescinding hairline!), but I use the moisturiser every day after stepping out of the shower and I didn’t peel once.
Normally while using aftersun or other similar products I haven’t kept the peeling at bay but Wingman dealt with it no problem.

Finally we have the 3-in-1 Shower/Shampoo/Shave.

Showergel from Wingman male grooming rangeThis in my opinion was the best of the bunch. Most shower gels these days can be used as both soap and shampoo, but normally it makes your hair all dry and it feels like you’ve not used a shampoo. With the 3-in-1 I used it as both shower gel and shampoo every day for two weeks and my hair (Whats left of it) felt great. Then to add to it, you can use the same product as a shave gel.
Again, I have used other things than purposely made shave gels like soap and even other shower gels, but they can cause the shave to be painful and not exactly smooth, but the 3-in-1 works just like a regular shave gel. I really didn’t expect it to deal with all 3 things as well as it did.

One final thing I loved about this range is that they all don’t smell. Well, they do, they each have a scent ranging from ‘Jet Fuel’, ‘Mint Boom’ and ‘Citrus Charge’ but they weren’t overpowering. I have a serious dislike for all things “citrusy”. I can taste a lemon or lime if just 1 drop has been placed in my food, I can smell them a mile away, but the smell with these products allow you to smell good without stinking out the place.
This is a great product to take on holiday for a bloke as it caters for 3 separate toiletry items in 1 bottle.

Would I recommend Wingman Male Grooming products? Yes.
Will I continue to use and buy Wingman Male Grooming products? Yes.
Were these Wingman Male Grooming products sent to me in exchange of this review? yes…but all opinions are mine, even those about my hairline.

  1. I am sure my hubby would love the idea of the 3 in 1 wash, great for taking away with you isn’t it as it is only 1 bottle to take. I have managed to get my hubby moisturising after his shaves now, he has much better skin now!

    1. Thanks for the comment Stephanie.
I am pretty sure the hubby would love it. It made it sso much easier on holiday only having to carry 1 bottle.
I need to get more into moisturiser then maybe I wouldn’t look 10 years older than I am! lol

      Thanks again

    1. I was genuinly impressed and I hope your hubby gives them a go. If he does, let me know!
I’ll definatly buy the 3-in-1 again.

    1. Thanks for hosting, I think it’s my first time :).
I’d never heard of them before but I know they are now in Asda, Tesco ect. Love small businesses doing well.

      Thanks for the comment.
