DWB Movies: 5 things you didn’t know about…The Terminator movies

Posted by

In celebration that one of my favourite movie franchises is returning this week I thought I would use it for my new feature here on DWB Movies.

5 things you didn’t know about…

It’s as simple as it sounds so without further ado, 5 things you dint know about The terminator movies.

1 – I’ll be back
It’s one of the The Terminator’s most famous lines, but it nearly caused a fall out between star Arnold Schwarzenegger and director James Cameron. The line was supposed to be “I’ll come back” but Arnie found it hard to pronounce and didn’t think the “I’ll” sounded very machine like and wanted to say “I Will be back”. Luckily Cameron won the argument and a legend was born.

2 – That OJ?
OJ Simpson was originally scheduled to play the T800. Even mock-up posters and comics were made with his image.

3 – Never lost it.
When appearing in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Arnold Schwarzenegger worked out so much, that by the time shooting had started he was the same weight and muscle measurements than when making Terminator 2: Judgment Day 12 years earlier!

4 – Judgment Day?
Due to the time travel theme in the movies there have been many dates referred to as Judgment Day but only three are mentioned in the movies. August 29th 1997, July 25th 2004 and April 21 2011….Looks like we are safe, for now!

5 – Small world.
In Terminator Genisys, the part of Sarah Connor is played by Emilia Clarke. Her co-star from Game of thrones Lena Headey actually plays the part of Sarah Connor in the TV series based on The Terminator franchise ‘Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’.

So there you have it, 5 things you may or may not have known about The Terminator movies.

I hope you liked this feature and if there is any film, you want to find out ‘5 Things’ about, let me know in the comments below and… I’ll Be Back!

As always, thanks for reading.
