I haven’t done one of these types of memes for aaaages, so when this latest one dropped into my lap, I figured I’d give whatever it was a go….Im now regretting it.
I’m regretting it because I have no real idea what I’m going to choose! But here goes…
I was tagged by the always loved Onedad3girls. On his playlist, which can be found here, he went for kid friendly songs. Now although, I’m not looking to scar my kids for life (Not yet anyway), I think they are still too young to really hear the words, so I’m just going to pick songs I might go for.
Although the CD currently in my stereo is Slipknot, I’m actually a fan of songs you can easily sing along too, not just shouty ones….although I like those too…sometimes!
So here goes….Track No1:
Will Smith: Just the 2 of us
I’ve always been a fan of Mr Smith and this is a song I always loved and kinda sang a lot to myself when I first became a dad as some of the lyrics really struck a chord.
Bryan Adams: Summer of 69
From Slipknot to Bryan Adams…yes my music taste is weird!
Staind: It’s been a while
Probably the slowest song on the album, but great to sing/shout along too!
Bowling for soup: Girl all the bad guys want.
It’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face and keep your head bopping on any long trip! Thos eagle-eyed among you may also notice the link between those last two tracks!
David Gray: Babylon
Eminem: Lose Yourself
The name of the track says it all.
Wow, I reeled them off the top of my head and if the journey would have been longer I could have probably come up with a few more!
There is a serious message behind the idea of a great driving soundtrack. THINK! research suggests that almost 20% of accidents on major roads are sleep or tiredness related. Long journeys on motorways can lead to a lack of concentration and, as well as other preventative measures, listening to songs you love can be a great way to stay alert and focused on the road.
The best answer of course is to just take a rest. Better to get there late, than not getting there at all.
So…..as with all memes. I have the honour of ‘Tagging’ some fellow bloggers so they have to show you how embarrassing their choice in music is. Lets go for……
Babblerblog (I think I tag him in every meme!)
The last 2 should be interesting, being husband and wife! Lol
Of course if you want to do your own Ultimate Summer Driving Playlist, you don’t need to be tagged….just do it, then put the link to your post in the comments below, so I can have a laugh…I mean look at your choices.
As always, thanks for reading.
